The second Holy Temple

King Solomon's first Temple stood for 410 years and the second for 420 years. It was said that whoever had not seen this structure, had not seen a great piece of architecture. It was "The" wonder of the world. Royalty & common folk alike from around the globe donated to this House of God. King Herod spared no expense remodeling it to it's full glory.

It was not simply constructed as a great piece of architecture, rather it was built according to Jewish law and what would be acceptable in God's eyes. The Second Temple would be the result of history from the First Temple and prophecy from Ezekiel of the third Temple (may it soon be speedily rebuilt). God told King David how to build the first Holy Temple, but said that he would not be the one since he was a warrior. He gave the plans to his son, King Solomon who in fact did build the first Holy Temple.

Much is recorded in the Hebrew text of the Mishna and Talmud as well as other sources. Rambam/Maimonides, defined and recorded Jewish law including laws pertaining to the Bet Hamikdash/Holy Temple. This model reflects his opinion as accurately as possible on this scale of 1/613.

Details

We weren't shy about including more pieces to make this as detailed as possible. 1305 new condition genuine LEGO® pieces are included in this one of a kind building set. It was made in a very limited quantity and will be compatible with part 2. That will be the larger 500x500 cubit area of the Temple Mount. The entire model is measured in cubits, also explained further in the included instructions.

Design

We have done three years of research to make this as accurate as possible. Designed as three individual parts, they come together as to complete the look. However, there is more than meets the eye. Ceilings are removable as well as walls, upper story and floor! Once you look inside you can see details like the Table, Incense-Alter and Menorah. There are custom textured printed parts that you have to see and feel to realize how cool they are. The building instructions also include information on exactly what what you're building, while you're building it.

It took our Master builder 3-1/2 hours to build the test model to the instructions. This model is great for adults and children alike. School children will benefit hugely from this class activity. It even comes with a Lego brick separator tool so you don't have to break your fingernails if you placed a piece incorrectly.
