FAQ
Q. Are these real LEGO® building bricks or some Chinese knock off LEGO® compatible product?
A. The parts we use in our custom sets are actual LEGO® elements. We don’t make the parts and we certainly don’t buy them from China. When we say we use LEGO®, we mean we use actual genuine LEGO® elements.
Q. Are you allowed to use the term LEGO® Legally? Can you resell LEGO®?
A. Jbrick is not the first company to create and sell custom LEGO® kits nor will it be the last. LEGO® wants it’s product sold but doesn’t want confusion as to if it’s real or where it’s from. So long as it’s a clear description such as, “Custom LEGO® kit”, it is 100% legal. Of course the standard legal fine print should be included i.e.: LEGO® does not endorse this product, etc. LEGO® policy prevents LEGO® itself from making military themed sets and perhaps religious as well which leaves the market open for us.
Q. Don’t you think your custom kits are a little spendy?
A. It’s well known standard LEGO® sets aren’t cheap. Now consider that LEGO® can’t be purchased at whole sale prices. Instructions and box covers have to be printed, shipping, packaging and possibly stickers or printed brick need to be acquired. Someone must design each set, order the necessary parts, put all of the kits together, and ship them out. When you put it all together, you have a custom set unique in design and quality.
Q. How are your kits designed? Anyone can do it, right?
A. We take LEGO® and make it better! Expert LEGO® Builder, Yitzy Kasowitz with a passion for LEGO® all his life has a professional background in graphics arts, home remodeling, engineering and more. Working directly under Master builder, Daniel Siskind has allowed Yitzy to hone his LEGO® building skills and learn all other facets of the business. Anyone can build with LEGO®, but jbrick is built right!
Q. OK, your sets are way cool! Is there anything I can I learn from them?
A. Jbrick custom LEGO® sets will run the range of building skill level. Some will use the basic model of LEGO® building brick upon brick. Others will challenge your mind if you are used to building traditionally by building upside down or sideways. The LEGO® term is referred to as, SNOT (Studs Not On Top). Learning these advanced techniques will hopefully inspire some LEGO® creations of your own! Building these sets with children is also a great learning opportunity for them to learn about Jewish holidays and traditions.
Q. Why are your sets so limited in quantity?
A. LEGO® releases their own sets in limited quantities. Granted those quantities are huge however, only small amounts of those parts become available for resale. Of those sets, there may be very few of a particular part. Sometimes those parts become so rare that they can go for over $100.00 USD a piece if they are even available! At jbrick, we have to design each custom set based not only on price, but also on the limited amount of particular pieces world wide. We may only be able to make 50 sets of one design and never be able to make that specific set again. Just one more reason why jbrick’s unique sets are so collectable!
Q. Where do you ship to? Any issues with shipping internationally?
A. Where don’t we ship? We pretty much ship anywhere worldwide. If there is a shipping issue with an order, we’ll do our best to figure it out between the buyer and the shipping address. Note: There are some locations where a package may not be dropped off unattended and may even require a signature. Of course it may take a while longer due to customs.
Q. So jbrick makes custom sets. Anything else?
A. Actually, that is our main focus. However, we have many options for custom design using LEGO® bricks. We can create an education package for your school or put together a package for a LEGO® themed event. Yitzy Kasowitz is also one of the few professionals in the world that has the skill and experience to create commissioned pieces. Be it a mosaic, corporate logo, or large sculptures. Use our contact page to inquire about any of your custom LEGO® needs.
Q. Do you sell wholesale?
A. We do. If you have a school program or Judaica store and are seeking a discount for larger quantities of our custom LEGO® sets, feel free to inquire about more information through our contact page.
